Vann Chow

Ideas from Asia, explained for readers everywhere.

Born in Hong Kong, Vann Chow has dedicated a writing life to researching and explaining Asia for readers across the English-speaking world. That journey began with a desire to create the books no one else seemed to be writing — the very books Vann wanted to read. The resulting work has earned multiple international accolades along the way.

Vann studied engineering but is an artist at heart, aspiring to be a modern-day Voltaire — a writer and philosopher who brings together culture, history, and scientific thinking with wit and insight.
